Yarmouk University Power & Energy Society Wins Most Outstanding Chapter Award 2025
The Power & Energy Society (PES) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) at Yarmouk University, managed under the supervision of the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, has won the Most Outstanding Chapter Award for 2025 at the Region 8 level.
According to the IEEE classification, Region 8 includes Europe, Asia, and North Africa.
The evaluation for this award is conducted by a specialized international committee and is based on the quality and scope of scientific and practical activities carried out during 2024, as well as their alignment with the global standards of the Power & Energy Society.
Dean of the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, Dr. Mohammad Alzubaidi, emphasized that this achievement would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts, teamwork, and meticulous planning demonstrated by the chapter’s members. He highlighted that the college’s students have proven their ability to reach unprecedented levels of excellence and leadership.
Dr. Alzubaidi expressed his pride in the IEEE Yarmouk University Branch and its student societies, noting that they are now competing at a global level in technology and innovation, while also contributing to strengthening Yarmouk University’s position as a leading academic institution in the region. He added that this victory serves as a strong motivation to continue supporting students and empowering them to launch pioneering initiatives and innovative projects that benefit both the local and scientific communities.
