TEDx Event at Yarmouk University: A Platform That Sparks Inspiration, Attended by Mr. Ayman Hijjawi and a Number of Changemakers

In Irbid, in an inspiring scene where intellect, ambition, and deep human experience came together, Yarmouk University hosted the TEDx Yarmouk University event, organized by the Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology. The event took place in the presence of a youth eager for new ideas and real success stories, as part of the faculty’s efforts to open new intellectual horizons for its students and academic community—driven by the dedication and creativity of its students, leaving an unforgettable mark. The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Yassin Al-Hleil, Assistant Secretary-General for Technical and Strategic Affairs, On behalf of the Minister of Youth.

The Hijjawi Foundation participated as a Platinum Sponsor, aligning with its vision of fostering creative thinking and encouraging constructive dialogue, and its mission to empower individuals through education, knowledge, and real-world engagement. The Foundation believes that nurturing character and broadening intellectual perspectives are just as vital as technical and vocational training. These qualities are key to building a conscious generation capable of leading change and shaping the future. By supporting TEDx Yarmouk University, the Foundation reaffirmed its belief that investing in people—in their minds, voices, and creative potential—is the true path to sustainable development.

A highlight of the event was the presence of Mr. Ayman Hijjawi, Chairman of the Hijjawi Foundation. His attendance brought a practical perspective grounded in lived experience. In a heartfelt speech, he shared his personal and professional journey.

Mr. Hijjawi recounted key milestones in his career—from modest beginnings and major challenges, through financial and administrative hurdles, to tangible achievements that significantly advanced vocational education. He emphasized that perseverance, a clear vision, and strong will were the pillars that enabled him to overcome adversity.

Mr. Hijjawi was joined by a number of speakers who took the stage to share their unique stories—each illustrating that success is not exclusive to a select few. It is a choice available to anyone who believes in their vision and is committed to pursuing it. Their narratives spanned overcoming poverty, failure, and social rejection to discovering renewed purpose and identity.

The message was powerful and sincere: Success is created, not waited for. Creativity needs only a mind that believes in its potential and a heart unafraid of change. TEDx at Yarmouk University was more than an event—it was a moment of awakening, a renewal of hope, and fertile ground for new journeys toward achievement.

At the close of the event, attendees expressed deep admiration for the inspiring content and outstanding organization. Many voiced their hope that such initiatives would continue—redefining success and progress from the very heart of universities and learning centers.
