Hijjawi Students Conclude Training at the Electronics Research Institute in Egypt: An Enriching Experience Opening New Professional Horizons
A delegation of students from the Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology at Yarmouk University has concluded an intensive training program at the Electronics Research Institute (ERI) in the Arab Republic of Egypt. They return equipped with a valuable wealth of advanced technical skills and practical experiences that transcend the traditional classroom setting.
What distinguished this experience is that it was not merely a response to academic requirements, but rather a conscious personal decision. The students chose to push beyond familiar boundaries and pursue professional training on an international level. For many, this marked their first time traveling and training outside the Kingdom, adding a profound human and personal dimension to the journey. They faced challenges with a proactive spirit and the determination of those who realize that every step outside one’s comfort zone is an investment in the future.
Over the course of 80 continuous training hours, students were immersed in the engineering technologies most influential to today’s global industrial landscape. The program covered integrated tracks, including:
Artificial Intelligence: From theoretical foundations to real-world applications.
Digital Image Processing: Tools used in diagnostic and analytical fields.
Robotics: Design, programming, and control systems.
Virtual Reality: Applications in engineering, design, and simulation.
The program adopted an interactive methodology, bridging rigorous theory with direct practical application. Set within a professional academic environment, it provided students the opportunity to simulate real engineering workplaces, effectively narrowing the gap between university education and labor market demands.
This program was the result of a steadfast institutional partnership between the Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology and the Scientific Foundation of Hisham Hijjawi , represented by the Hijjawi Foundation Center for Career Development. Both entities work toward a unified goal: preparing engineers capable of competing in regional and global markets.
The Hisham Hijjawi Foundation continues its unwavering support for such initiatives, driven by the belief that equipping youth with the "skills of tomorrow" is the shortest path to true sustainable development. The Foundation emphasizes that investing in human capital is a necessity—not an option—amidst the rapid technological shifts reshaping the job market.
The students returned with more than just training certificates; they gained renewed self-confidence, a deeper understanding of professional environments, and an academic and professional network that extends beyond borders. Participants expressed their gratitude, noting that the experience transformed their perspective on what they can achieve in their careers.
With this achievement, the Foundation reaffirms its commitment to supporting the faculty's students, opening doors for further initiatives that position them according to their ambitions and competencies on the regional and international scientific map.
