A Pioneering Field Experience for Hijjawi Faculty Students in Solar Energy Projects in Collaboration with Five Builders in Egypt

A delegation of students from Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology has successfully completed their practical training in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as part of an advanced, real-world project in solar photovoltaic systems hosted by Five Builders, a company specialized in engineering projects and renewable energy solutions. The delegation included Dania Hindawi, Ibrahim Khtaleen, Mohammad Khasawneh, and Abdullah Al-Shawabkeh, from the Electrical Power Engineering department.
This training was supported through a grant from the Scientific Foundation of Hisham Adeeb Hijjawi, as part of its commitment to providing hands-on training opportunities that enhance students’ readiness for the labor market and equip them with practical experience in vital sectors, particularly renewable energy.

The program provided participants with the opportunity to work in a professional engineering environment and to take part in the implementation phases of an actual solar energy systems project, starting from technical studies through on-site execution and commissioning tests. This experience contributed to strengthening their understanding of real-world project implementation, quality standards, occupational safety requirements, and teamwork within specialized engineering groups.
Such initiatives play an important role in strengthening partnerships between academic institutions and the private sector at both local and international levels. They help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, broaden students’ professional horizons, and align educational outcomes with the evolving needs of the labor market.
