Hijjawi Students Reach the Top 8 in Robofight Competition

The Hijjawi Foundation Career Development Center is pleased to announce its pride and appreciation for the distinguished students of Hijjawi College of Engineering and Technology, Computer Engineering: Sara Al-Badr, Ibrahim Al-Majali and Omar Awawdeh, and Mechanical Engineering: Abd Alraouf Hassan who represented the college with excellence and distinction in the Robofight competition.

Robofight is a robotic competition that brings together engineering teams from various universities, challenging them to design, build, and develop combat robots while testing students’ skills in programming, mechanical design, and engineering thinking under real competitive pressure.

Our team successfully reached the top 8, amidst strong competition characterized by a high technical and engineering level. This achievement reflects the significant effort and continuous preparation undertaken by the students throughout all stages of development and training.

The competition was hosted at the Private Applied Science University on March 31, 2026, with 22 top university teams participating, following qualifying rounds that included more than 117 teams.

The Hijjawi Foundation Career Development Center emphasizes that student support is not limited to academic guidance alone but also extends to enabling them to engage in practical experiences that shape their character and build their skills. Supporting the team in this competition was part of the center’s mission to prepare students for the workforce with real, hands-on competencies.

The center also extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to Dean Dr. Awad Al-Zaben and Supervisor Dr. Shadi Alboon for their efforts in guiding and supporting the students. Moreover, the pivotal role of the Hisham Hijjawi Foundation in supporting its students and encouraging them to undertake scientific experiences and represent the college at the highest levels is highlighted, as this continuous support serves as a true driving force pushing students toward excellence and innovation.
